British Military Operations This series of pages deals with the operations of the British Army, the Royal Navy, the Merchant Navy (to some degree) and the Royal Air Force. I mean by using the term "operations" the battles / campaigns conducted by the Army, the land and sea based operations of the Royal Navy, sea based activities of the Merchant Navy (in wartime) and the land and aerial activities of the Royal Air Force. Also included is a separate section on researching individual aircraft of the Royal Flying Corps, the Royal Naval Air Service and the Royal Air Force. Naval ships do not receive the same treatment here as the activities of ships are contained in the page on Naval Operations. Some details regarding Foreign nationals serving with "foreign squadrons" of the RAF during World War 2 are given in the Royal Air Force section. These include Commonwealth squadrons and Polish etc. The notes on Military Operations are divided into:
